  • I have just started using Opera on Windows 10, as I had read that it is fast, and generally good. I have not been disappointed except I find that it renders some text very poorly, to the extent that I have to make a real effort to read, for example, my emails. In this respect it compares very poorly to IE and Firefox.
I have not yet found how to adjust the font on Opera, but find it difficult to believe that the community of Opera users can tolerate the thin, rather grey looking text that I am experiencing on many websites.
    Any advice?

  • Try adjusting Clear Type on Windows settings.

You can also try changing fonts in Opera settings.

If it doesn't help, try disabling hardware acceleration.

  • Thanks leocg,
I have just tried the Clear Type option without success. No noticeable change.
I maybe daft, but I just cannot find how to change fonts in Opera. I'm using version 39.0.2256.71
Can you give me a clue please?

  • OK. I found the font control.

  • Thanks for your advice, but the problem persists.
    I'll try a different browser.

  • Is your graphic card driver up to date?

Also, do you have an example page where the problem happens and a screen-shot of it?

  • Yes. Driver is up to date.
Life's to short to struggle any more with this little problem. There are other browsers.
I'm using Edge right now. Seems better to me.
    Thanks for your help.
