Hi @farmerfifi3, if your Windows does not have a native support for video playback using H.264 codec (this is required by the Opera to play videos encoded in this format), then the website will attempt to use the Adobe Flash - PPAPI plugin, which can be installed as follows:
-
In step 1 select your Windows version,
-
In step 2 make sure that you select "FP XX for Opera and Chromium - PPAPI",
-
Untick the checkboxes under the "Optional offers", and press "Download Now",
-
After you install the plug-in, launch the Opera, go to opera://plugins, and make sure, that the plug-in is enabled.
Regarding the problem with video playback on the MSNBC website (as you mentioned it here):
-
The above Flash plugin needs to be installed and turned on,
-
Go to Settings > Websites > Plug-ins:
- select the option "Detect and run important plug-in content (recommended)",
or
- click on "Manage exceptions", and add
[*.]msnbc.com
under the "Hostname pattern" , select "Detect content" from the drop-down, and press "Done".
