Back up bookmarks - why such a pain?

I want to love Opera, I really do - but I am trying to back up my bookmarks and I'm SHOCKED to find absolutely no relevant information online! The two help areas - online Opera itself - said to use settings > import and export. There IS no "import and export" option under settings. Really, Opera?
The other help I see says to go to bookmarks > manage bookmarks. Again, there is no "manage bookmarks" option!
Wow. Really really poor design and worse support. Can someone please provide some relevant information to me for this very simple procedure?

Menu > Help or F1 will lead you to a page that doesn't say that.
The other help I see says to go to bookmarks > manage bookmarks. Again, there is no "manage bookmarks" option!
Menu > Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks.
