Why can't I just drag a "Page Information" (from address bar) to my desktop/any folder to make a shortcut of a page link? Years later we could do such things but I have to use another browser or this!

Why someone would need or want to do it? Why not just bookmark or save the page?

Many people like to have instant access to various sites from their desktops for example. (Without first opening Opera and clicking on a site in speed dial). Secondly, this is a more generic way of storing links, you can easily send them to others and certainly use them in other applications, etc.

Saving doesn't work for dynamic pages. Bookmarks do not work for other PC users (or other browser users or both). I sometimes create such links for my wife, on her desktop - olde Opera allowed drag them to my desktop at least; nowadays I need to use New>Shortcut wizard on desktop or just plain IE.
