"A new version of the Opera autoupdate client" message--what is this?

I keep getting this message when opening Opera Developer: "A new version of the Opera autoupdate client is ready to be installed. Do you want to install the update now?"

I click on "Yes," and nothing seems to install.

The next I open Opera Developer causes the same message to pop up with the same results.

Can I somehow get rid of this annoying message popup box?

I have version 39.0.2248.0 on Windows 7.
