This must have been asked many times so forgive me if I ask again, but I have rejoined opera after a brief spell a few years ago, and hope it will be to my liking and not too difficult to master. But currently although youtube video's play, any video's within news websites don't. I seem to be getting notifications that I'm not supported or flash player is'nt installed, yet on Slimjet and chrome, things run smoothly.
I seem to recall reading flash player was on the way out and that HTML was taking over (whatever that is) and presumably that's why youtube runs?.
Can anyone offer me advice please. I did try intsalling flash player this morning and it appear to install, but I didn't get the options to "run" and "save" etc.

If you go to opera://plugins what does it say is installed? If it lists Flash, does it say NPAPI or PPAPI? Opera uses the PPAPI version, but will usually list both.
If you don't have the PPAPI version, then go to the Flash download page while using Opera and it should give you the correct version.
