installing Opera

  • Hello,

I just installed opera and was super happy, then I discovered in about page that the installation made some assumptions I do not appreciate...

How can I change the below two directories on C drive to be located on the x drive as well? I wasn't asked during the setup and it's so uncool that installation makes these choices without my approval...

or are there any settings which I could not find anywhere that would allow me to change those directories? is there a settings file someplace?

    Install: X:\Program Files (x86)\Opera
    Profile: C:\Users\q\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
    Cache: C:\Users\q\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Stable

  • Uninstall Opera then run the installer again and click in "options". You'll have the option to change the install folder, among other things.

You can't change the path of the profile folder afaik.

  • right, so I found the way to do it

    Install: X:\Program Files (x86)\Opera
    Profile: x:\cache
    Cache: x:\cache\

I created a shortcut to the Opera loader where I added the path on x drive, which by the way is a 1GB ramdisk and that works, Opera is insanely stupid fast now loading and all operations.
