I want to change the default search engine of the Opera browser. However, I am neither able to add a new search engine nor am I able to make any of the given ones as default.

Afaik you cannot set a custom search engine as the default one.

Here if i change the search engine, the last used one becomes the default one.

That should be coming, after all is already possible on latest Chrome Dev.
