Use my own page instead of Start-Page

Today I returned to Opera after a long break. I came to the Developer version to test out the VPN.

I'm using: 38.0.2205.0.

For years I have used a local web server to provide a page that I use in all my browsers, on-start and on-new-tab.

I can't find how to invoke that page in Opera when I create a new tab. (Instead all I can get is something called Start Page which has:

1. search
2. hyperlinks (called Speed Dial)
3. "News"
4. with a predefined set of styles called themes.)

I've tried an additional entry in the config file (Preferences). "homepage" didn't crash the system, but neither did it work.

What do I do to get the page I want when I create a new tab?

You would need to install an extension for that, and there are several.

Thanks. Surprised I needed to do it that way.

so If you goto opera://settings/ and try using the on startup function to tell to use a specific page it still wont open your custom page
