Google search predictions in private tabs.

Is this a feature or a bug? What's the point of private tabs if you allow Google to start tracking you as soon as you start typing into the URL bar? This does not happen with other search providers, and the desktop browser also does not have this behaviour.
This is ridiculous. Please remove this bug.

Private tabs/windows are meant to avoid that the navigation can be tracked locally by not keeping any traces of it after the session ends.
They were never meant to block data from being sent to sites.I am aware of that. The issue is that data is being sent to Google's servers even when I have no intention of performing a search. Limited tracking is still possible without data being saved locally. A user typing in a partial url address will have search predictions offered to them. How is that right?
Why not keep the behaviour consistent between the desktop and android versions?
