It generally defaults to the last folder you saved a bookmark too. If you wish to change in than the heart menu is the best place.

perhaps a minute or more. i think its the first time, then its faster, could that be? is there any other way of saving bookmarks? is it because i have sync on? using win xp

no, 1 minute or even couple of seconds for saving a bookmark is sign that something is wrong (I have test file with 13 000 bookmarks and saving is instant)

saving IS instant. what lasts a looot is editing bookmark (by clicking onto red heart) to change the folder where i want to save it. i think it shouldnt.
leocg: its an option, thanks. -

could it be that as i have sync ON, and if internet connection is slow, it takes this time to check and sync?

I have sync enabled and i don't face such issue but i also don't have that many folders in bookmarks.
You can try this: Do a stanbdalone installation, enable sync on it and after it have synced your bookmarks, try to bookmark a few pages to see if the issue still happens.
