Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin plug-in has stopped working on this page

I just installed Opera for the very first time. I am trying to watch a recorded presentation but I get a sad Lego block on a black background over where the video should be. I also receive the message "The Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin plug-in has stopped working on this page." I have disabled Windows Media Player from the "Turn windows features on or off" (I run Windows 10), I have checked for updates just in case, I restarted the PC, turned the feature back on, and reinstalled Opera (chose the option to delete everything when uninstalling, and didn't allow it to sync with other browsers when installing). I still have the same issue. What else can I do?

After I un-check Windows Media Player in Windows features and I still receive the same message, "Windows Media Player Version: 1.0.0.8 np-mswmp" is listed in opera:plugins.

Yes, but then it tells me I need to enable Windows Media Player in plug-ins to watch the video.

It's a from an online course. They are updated pretty regularly. I had no issues with Firefox, just Opera.
