      I have my maximum number of columns set to 6, but there are only 5 columns on my speed dial. Does Opera modify the number of columns depending on the dimensions of the display? Or is something wrong here?

        Afaik, yes, the numbe of columns depends on the screen size.

            ... If the maximum columns worked then this wouldn't have changed anything anyway. If you had max 5 columns and it gave you 6 columns, that'd be a bug, no? What is it that you actually want? And why?

              Try using this Opera:flags and search for tile size decrease the tile size and it should make 6 columns

              here's the two links just copy paste into address bar and hit enter
