      Hey folks,

I just registered only to ask how this works. I am on El Capitan and I'd like Opera to access all the passwords that are saved from Safari to my OSX Keychain. How can I tell Opera to use these? Shouldn't I be asked if I want to allow it somehow and after accepting, Opera should have access?

Thanks in advance for helping me and best regards, Boland

Hi @bolandross, unfortunately Apple doesn't allow other applications to read the Safari keychain passwords anymore, unless they're App Store applications. Opera can't be in the App Store due to the technical limitations Apple places on applications there.

You can read more details here:

How to at least copy passwords from keychain to new Opera account? I want to migrate to Windows and Opera instead of Mac and Safari.

                Hey @avl

unfortunately Apple doesn't allow other applications to read the Safari keychain passwords anymore, unless they're App Store applications.

This is not true. There are different programs like extensions for firefox or terminal-programs and scripts which are able to read or export the keychain.
A couple of days ago I again have exported all of my passwords from the keychain (El Capitan) to a csv file.
