I'm using Opera Mail 1.0 as my mail client now
I think it is good because- it store mail in year/month/date folder, this keep small number of files in each folder
- I tried put 60k+ number of emails in one pop3 account inbox folder and it is still fast
- using tab
- follow threads and contacts
Suggestion:
- When I click to an imap folder or an label, it highlight the last email i read
but I want to see the newest one
or let me choose to do so - cannot add local storage folder
sometimes my imap quota may exceed and need move some mail to local,
so please add a local folder so I can move mail to local and won't affect my webmail usage - Backup and restore
I saw there are mail client that can do auto backup the whole mail data to other folder/disk (with choice to keep 1,3,5,10 copies) and one click restore - Keep my draft in my imap account
- import mail from Windows Live mail
- when I reply/forward email, I usually include messages below my signature. But now the signature is at the end
- I like the quick reply function, but please add the signaturein the reply mail

No options for this. However, if you ctrl + click the selected message (so that no messages are selected then) before you close out of that view, when you open it, Opera should select the message at the top or bottom of the list (depending on sorting).

You can export messages. Then, you can use "Menu -> settings -> import and export -> import mail -> import generic mbox" to import those messages into a new local pop account (a pop account without any server settings pretty much). Then, next time, you import, you import into that existing account. Also, in the account's settings, you can name the account "Local" if you want. You can also right-click in the mail panel, goto "settings for this view" and choose a select a single account so that only messages for that account are shown in the "All Messages" views etc. and the ones for other accounts (including the "Local" one) are hidden.
- Backup and restore

Opera doesn't have this. However, *while Opera Mail is closed*" you just copy the "mail" folder, contacts.adr and wand.dat to a safe place. Then, if you ever wanted to use that backed-up copy, you'd just put those copies where they go (in place of the existing ones). Don't forget about exporting messages though. You have to make sure all messages are fetched in full though for a complete backup.
- Keep my draft in my imap account
Yeh, Opera doesn't support an IMAP drafts folder. However, you can manually drag draft messages to the drafts IMAP folder to upload them to the IMAP server for use with a webmail or other client for example.
import mail from Windows Live mail
Opera supports the standard mbox format. You can export Windows Live messages as eml files and use an eml to mbox conver and then import into Opera.> 6. when I reply/forward email, I usually include messages below my signature. But now the signature is at the end
Opera doesn't support any configuration for this. However, you can edit accounts.ini in the mail folder and edit the reply= and forward= lines. At the beginning of the line's value (after the =), you can add a text-only signature and any lines you want with \n. That'll give you a sig before the quote.
- I like the quick reply function, but please add the signature in the reply mail
Yeh, there's no config for that.
- When I click to an imap folder or an label, it highlight the last email i read
