      Hello everyone

A new "feature" in Opera (latest version) is that if you try to save a file, and a file with that name already exists, Opera will not tell you about that, and will simply add (1) to the end of the file name. I'm sure this must be useful to some people, but not to me. I would prefer if Opera were to behave like all other programs on my computer, i.e. tell me "a file with this name already exists" and prompt me to change the file name myself. How can I get Opera to do that?

      Thanks
      Samuel

You can't, Opera Blink doesn't have such option.

I guess most browsers don't have it.

          Advice.

You want some files to be up-to-date, overwritten.
Have a folder for "stable versions", and another - to get updates.
You've got new versions of such files - you download it to the other, latter folder. Then you just copy everything from 2 to 1 with overwrite.

@joshl: To save a file in another folder, you have to navigate to that folder from the Save dialog. Opera uses the previous save location in the Save dialog, so before you can navigate to another folder, the "(1)" is already added by Opera.

              Necro-posting is not good.
