Opera not connecting to internet

I was just checking my mails when I got the idea to check if Opera is up to date.
Since it wasn't i made the update from 33.0.1990.58 to 33.0.1990.115. Restarted Opera. BAM! nothing."This webpage is not available. Opera could not load the webpage because help.opera.com took too long to respond."
I'm using OperaUSB, but this shouldn't matter much. Restarted Windows twice. nothing. I've even downloaded OperaUSB again and started from scratch. nothing.
No matter what I do. Opera does not connect to the internet anymore. Right now I'm on Firefox.
Please... can anyone tell me what could have gone wrong?

Is Turbo enabled? If yes, have you tried with it disabled?
If you mean: "Opera Icon > Opera Turbo" it is unchecked.
I tried almost anything. But since the update yesterday NO Opera browser works
- clean installation, Opera Stable (Opera_33.0.1990.115_Setup.exe, offline installer)
- OperaUSB 30
- OperaUSB 12.17
- PortableApps Opera
I even tried disabling the Firewall and AntiVirus, no effect.
Firefox and Internet Explorer work fine. Opera and Chrome cannot establish an internet connection. It seems that the opera process (opera.exe) is completely blocked by the network.
Could it be that something crucial changed in the new Opera core or Webkit that is mistaken as a trojan/virus/etc ??
But even then, the old Opera 12.17 should work at least.
I am completely desperate. Do you have any ideas?

What's your system?
A possibility exists that a recent system update might have messed with some defaults - like which program is allowed to connect to the Internet...

A possibility exists that a recent system update might have messed with some defaults - like which program is allowed to connect to the Internet...Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 64-bit
Seems others have the same issue:
https://forums.opera.com/post/88234"... it's just opera and chrome."
DAMN!
Just wanted to try Opera Developer, but the installer (Opera_NI_developer.exe) is stuck at "Downloading..." Same thing for Stable (Opera_NI_stable.exe)I have no idea what is going on here. I did not install any update, nor have I changed any system settings.
Well, I must admit that Windows tells me that "This copy of Windows is not genuine". Bullshit! I just don't want to have any Microsoft spyware services running, so I simply refuse to install any update, activation, genuine check or any other tools that may sniff my computer.
If THAT is the culprit... well, then I will have to perform this son of a bitch WGA
