The Opera 34.0.2036.3 has been promoted to the beta channel, the change log, and the announcement
Turbo 2
Opera Turbo is an established and widely recognized method of received data compression and thus providing both data savings and faster response on slower connections. After an extended period of testing and verification, we have switched to the Turbo 2 model. This one, apart from being compliant across all devices, is particularly usable when your available Internet connection is stable but slow. This change has been introduced server-wise with no browser frontend, however observant users might spot the improvement.
Discover is News
Our Discover feature is widely appreciated by more and more users. Thanks for that! Now, to improve this experience even further, we have started the changes by renaming Discover to News – as simple as that! You can expect more News changes in Developer stream very soon.
MSE – MP3 audio support
MSE Audio (audio/mpeg and audio/aac mimetypes) now works from within Opera, enabling playback from Google Play Music and similar services.
Share button on Mac
The support for the native Share button on Mac has been implemented. It is now possible to perform sharing from within the browser, using your favorite social network or community:
Download manager drop-down improvements
Now, you are able to cancel the ongoing download using the “cancel” button on any download in progress which is visible in the downloads drop-down:
The Chromium version is now 47.0.2526.35.
Known issues
We have fixed the majority of context menu issues which emerged after switching to 34 with the new Chromium version, but some of them still exist. We know about these and work on them.

With this update I'm unable to access (not only to watch videos, but to gain access to this particular site) youtube completely. Any other site - no problem. Firewall rules are OK. Flash player is up to date. Youtube videos embedded in other sites don't work either. Other browser (IE) works just fine. What's the problem?

What exactly happens when you try to access Youtube?

Opera says that it "cannot load page, because www.youtube.com does not respond. Probably site is temporarily unavailable or you have problems with your internet connection". And a list of what can I do (check connection, firewall or proxy). Connection and firewall are OK and I don't use proxy.

Is Turbo enabled by chance? Any extensions being used? It opens in other browsers?

Turbo mode is off. I disabled all extensions but still can't access youtube (same result). As I mentioned before IE opens youtube with no problem.

Just where exactly can I do that? I looked through the settings and found no cache option. The only thing that looks alike is the 'All cookie files and site data' button in the security settings. Is that it?

Thanks a lot! It really worked out! Although in my case it was in a bit different place: Settings - Security - Clear history button under Privacy section. I pushed it and a popup window appeared with (among other options) the option 'Clear cache'. Thank you very much again!

New update - Opera beta 34.0.2036.16, the change log, and the announcement
Highlights - few usability and stability fixes, including:
DNA-44690 – plugin interaction fix
A number of our users have reported that after some time, keyboard or mouse input stops working for them. We identified the issue as related to plugin interaction and fixed it. This is a call-out to all those who had this issue: can you please use this build and confirm that it is now working for you?
DNA-45934 – spellchecker submenu
This fix is restoring context menu spellchecker options.
DNA-45593 – Mac crash on Turbo toggle
This is a fix for the Mac-specific crash happening when Turbo mode was toggled with no window open.
Known issues
We are aware that some sidebar extensions are misbehaving. This is currently under investigation.

Maybe Opera Should start thinking how to make all speeddial, bookmarks and news work on low memory in one opera.exe process.. hehehe... just suggestion. because even opera works on low ram device, sometimes seems feel bloat by seeing the task manager
cheers!

The Opera 34.0.2036.25 has been promoted to the stable channel
The change log, and the announcement.
"We launched Opera 34 today, which includes our newest improvements to Opera Turbo. Opera Turbo speeds up slow connections and can help you save data.
Why do we care about Opera Turbo? Well, let me tell you a story about a guy I met a few days ago. Let’s call him Darek. He is a construction engineer and he lives and breathes construction work: how the ground should be prepared, how walls are built and many other difficult concepts I am not capable of fully understanding.
Darek is the guy who, regardless of the weather conditions, makes sure that thousands of things on his building sites are done with flawless craftsmanship. To do that, he uses his laptop, intensively. He is always online to download documentation, check details with architects, chat with clients, the works. And, there’s one small problem with this. There is no cable connection at the construction site. So, Darek needs to use a mobile network.
Despite the fact he has an enormous data plan of 32 GB, it is never enough. So, he needs data compression to squeeze as much as possible out of those 32 GB. I was happy to hear that he uses the full portfolio of our data-compression software: Opera Mini, Opera Max and the Opera Turbo feature in Opera for computers.
A new version of Opera Turbo
And now, Opera 34 for computers makes his life even easier because it has the next generation of our Opera Turbo compression. It’s faster and more reliable, especially if the network has very low bandwidth and high latency.
I could have written many technical details about the technology of our servers, sophisticated algorithms to predict what resources will be sent or benchmarks we test against. But, we know you’re not interested in the technical details and we’re not either. We’re interested in how technology makes your life easier, how it helps you get more done.
So, if you’re like Darek and you need a little speed boost or just want pages to load when you’re not on a nice, wired connection, try out Opera 34 and let us know how we can help you do a little more."

What would make you think that? :awww: That's absolutely something I'd be interested in. However, I'm assuming much of it is proprietary and not going to be shared with me. I do, conceptually, understand compression techniques and predictive modeling, so I strongly suspect that the parts I'd be interested in are quite likely to not be the parts shared. But, rest assured, I'm (for one) very interested in the technical details. I find stuff like that fascinating.
Anyhow, "Darek" is a mason, judging by the hammer he's carrying. But, if anyone else is curious, there's a White Paper about Turbo located here.
It doesn't get into the technical details either. I am on the road and often using my home computer by way of VNC. I've already got some compression and being able to compress it a bit more is always interesting. Thus my interest in the subject.
If there are some non-proprietary bits you'd like to share... Well, I'm all ears. :sherlock: I do wish I could use Turbo with SurfEasy installed BUT not turned on. If SurfEasy is installed and enabled Turbo doesn't work, of course. However, even if it is installed but not turned on then it doesn't work. At any rate, no complaints with the beta build. It's stable as a rock, it usually is.
