I wish someone influential in this decision would decide to move forward with 64-bit Opera. I don't want to use Chrome x64 or Waterfox, but that's looking like my only options right now. We have 2.5 web products right now that continue to crash in Opera, and it traces back to a resource addressing issue that doesn't occur in 64-bit browsers.
And for people who don't have my compelling need to solve a current problem, here's a year-old article that highlights why people might want Chrome x64: http://www.zdnet.com/article/bigger-better-64-bit-chrome-web-browser-now-available-for-windows/

They had an x64 version when Opera was using presto but they have not yet made one for the knew version of Opera which uses the same engine as Chrome x86 version.. It is a pity that they have chosen not to make a x64 version of Opera as of yet

Just askin, what's the advantage of having a 64 bit version of Opera?

At this point not a whole lot. The main advantage is it allows a single process to access more RAM. 32 bit applications are limited to a little under 4 GB. Since Opera is now multi-process its kind of a moot point. There are some small performance gains and some people here have claimed that the 64 bit version of the Chromium renderer (which Opera uses) is slightly more stable but thats it. If you didn't know you were using the 64 bit version you probably wouldn't be able to tell.
