on the bookmark toolbar one can easily make a link to the desired bookmarkfolder that epands, when you click it.
is there a way to have a button that opens/expands directly a bookmark folder, so one can have it also on other toolbars?
cheers -

You can generate a button(s) that opens bookmarks sidebar with the desired bookmark folder. Of course, you can place these buttons anywhere you want.

Rename your your desired bookmark folder by adding at the beginning the number and "_" symbol. For an example: "**1_**FolderName"
(where "1_" is a number and FolderName is a name of your bookmark folder). -
Go to http://opera.higeorange.com/customize/button_maker_en.html (Opera's buttons generator web-page, English version)
-
Insert in to the "Action" field:
Focus panel,"bookmarks",,,"Folder"&Focus previous widget&Focus panel,"bookmarks"&Insert,"1_ "&Delay,50&Backspace&Clear&Delay,200&Focus next widget&Open item&Focus page
(where's "1_ " is the number of the bookmark folder). Warning! The space symbol should be present after the "_" !
-
Insert in to the "Words displayed to a button" field the name of the button (you can set any name).
-
Press "Make or button", then install the button
Now, you can use this new button to open the desired bookmarks folder in Opera's sidebar.

p.s. Don't forget to enable the option opera:config#UserPrefs|Showpaneltoggle to make Opera's sidebar for comfy.
