Is This How Synchronization Works??

I turn on synchron on my laptop, the Opera there sends the data off the a central location. Then when I open Opera on my tablet and turn synchron on there, the O on my tablet collects the data from the central location and adds the bookmarks Speed Dials etc.
Is THAT how it works, because if that is so, then I can turn off synchron on my laptop after a while, and turn on my tablet later and the tablet will collect that data.
Or do BOTH Operas have to be booted up at the same time, and it is JUST my 2 Operas that are communicating with each other without any middle connection??

Thanks for THAT clarification. Really.
So, I assume that if there is so called central data location, as it has been named by bbildman, then eg. my bookmarks are on servers and I wonder if it is possible to remove by the Opera team at my kind request two defective bookmarks, which can not be done manually, and which cause the failure (crash) of my browsers immediately after start-up? -

There is a method to reset your sync::
"I want to clear all my synced data. How can I reset my account?
If you've forgotten your synchronization passphrase or just want a fresh start to the browsing data you share between your devices, you can easily reset your synced data.
To reset your account:
Navigate to
Select the Reset sync button.
You will be signed out of all your devices and your synced data will be removed from Opera servers. Keep in mind that any data that has been synced to a device will remain on that device until you manually remove it."
Please note that when I navigated to that page today, I get a "An error occurred. Please try again later."
hopefully this is only a temporary error.
However, back to your question. I never leave sync on after I have synced, there too many strange things that happen (duplicate BMs, jumbling of BMs etc). When I do a sync, I ALWAYS reset the sync, this removes all my data from Opera's servers. Then I usually sync my Computer/Laptop first, this will send all of my data to the server, then I will sync my mobile Opera, and everything that I sent to the server from my Computer's Opera will be sent to the Mobile Opera. I then sign out ot sync, or rest it again, so Opera now has no data there anymore.

@bbildman
Thanks for the advice but it was not possible to remove the two damaged bookmarks in this way.
I could have simply remove the browser if I had not had saved there over 160 MB of data.
Ps: I was a few days out of range that's why I am writing just now.Ps-2: If you or someone else is interested in such a situation as described above, here it is the full description;

Are you saying you cannot remove the defective 2 bookmarks on your computer and the other device you also have it on????
Because if you can, then do a reset sync, now both your Operas are NOT signed in to sync.
Now the servers do NOT have your bookmarks at all, so if you have also deleted those bad bookmarks from your devices, you are starting from scratch and when you login to sync, the bookmarks that you sync will not have those bad ones.

Exactly, I can not(!) manually remove or otherwise the two damaged bookmarks on my phones.
I also know about syncing error, relating to this I did post in the topic "Sync not working" a couple of days ago. -

@arkad: I'm working directly on synchronization so can help out. You mentioned that you can't remove bookmarks manually. Could you explain exactly why? Needed to diagnose the problem.

@mlowi...,
Thanks for your intentions - if that's not a problem, please see my post relating to these two bookmarks under this link below - I don't want to clutter the forum by doubling texts.https://forums.opera.com/post/82906
As I mentioned a few posts above full description of this issue I posted on August 25th.

@arkad: from what I understand when you try to delete these bookmarks then browser crashes. With each clients (browsers) it happens? If you'll enable synchronization on desktop browser (stable) and try to delete these two bookmarks there then browser crashes as well?

@mlowickiatwork;
Unfortunately I am on the go right now and don't have access to my PC, so I can't check out your suggestions.
So far all attempts to remove these bookmarks caused crash on all new versions of Opera Mini (as I mentioned earlier the problem started on OM Beta 11.0.1912.94373 through 11.0.1912.95166 and so on).
Updating don't change anything in this matter because corrupted bookmarks are being transferred along with all others to the current version - OM 12 crashes right after the start.The only positive thing in this case is that after synchronization I could removed damaged bookmarks from the so-called
"the new Opera Mini for Android (2.3 or higher)"
(actually, I do not know
how properly is called this version of Opera, this version which I'm using now has number 30.0.1856.95530).Btw, can the Opera Team organize the new naming for Opera versions for mobile devices, because the names began to mingle .
Do I need to report this suggestion in some other
section, if so, where?

@mod;
My above post was for no reason flagged and moderated for almost three hours, after approval it doesn't have any annotations on the main board about the author of the post, the time of dispatch and so on. One more thing, why this post above doesn't have
the original date of posting?
Can you fix it?
Said message was the answer to an important question from moderator #mlowickiatwork.
Thanks in advance.
