Is there any reason for installing a antivirus app on my mobil phone when using Opera for Android browser?
Have Opera for Android any kind of security device installed in it's browser?I did have Avira antivirus installed on my Samsung S4 mini with Opera for Android, but I thougt it slowed down everytime my phone was updating apps. And I don't know if Avira antivirus is active when browsing on internet?
After using Avira antivirus for a few months I uninstalled it.
So, is any anitivirus program on mobile phone's "just a waste of time"?

I have Avast installed ... it does include a URL scanner which it says is active, but it says it hasn't scanned any URLs since installed, so I must conclude it doesn't work with Opera for Android.
They have a firewall, but to be effective it would require root access - and I have no particular intention of rooting my device. Perhaps that's why the URL scanner doesn't seem to work?

an antivirus that interacts with your browser is pointless on android.
any potential malware would have to go through the package installer to install itself, which is where it's already checked by any antivirus you might be running or the "verify apps" feature of the Google play services.
