I use McAfee security
I hope you aren't paying for that garbage. Its terrible. Get a free virus scanner. Consumer level 'security solutions' are all terrible but at least you don't have to pay money for it. Anyway, as long as you scan your downloads before opening them and don't click 'yes' to every weird pop-up that shows up you should be fine. Also, ad blockers (which are free) go a long way to helping protect your system even by just blocking all those terrible, insecure ads from your webpages.
I cannot d/l pod casts only play them.
Con you provide a specific link so we can test it?

You should ask on Mcafee forums/support why they don't support Opera.

It's always better to use different topics for different issues.
Downloading something from the internet depends on the site, not everyone allows you to do that. And without a link to the page it's hard to say if it's the case.

I don't know as i use only Windows Defender. because it comes with Windows 10. But, in theory, all AV should work with any browser, it may just not keep monitoring your web surfing all the time with a proxy or something like that.
However it will check downloaded files, including ones in the cache, so it will alert you if something is found.

I was able to download the podcast by right clicking oin the link anb choosing "Save linked content as". If i just click on it then Opera will try to reproduce it.

Thanks, why didn't I think of the "right click" I must be getting old and yes it worked fine, the article on McAfee looks interesting I had a wee look and will explore later, perhaps time to change eh.
