I just upgraded to opera 30 from . . . 17 I think. I had the last one where before opera switched to the new menu system it has now, from like 4-5 years ago. I really like that one, if I remember which one I had I'd download it, but my PC crashed and I couldn't find it so I'm trying to get use to progress.

I mostly (90% of the time) use opera to read comics and webcomics. I used to have my mouse gesture setup to right click swipe right being close, and open the next tab in order for tab display order, so I could open up 30 tabs and swipe close them as I read them. Now, the "last active tab" thing something gets my out of order (sometimes it goes back, and sometimes it skips a few) Is there a way to change the mouse gesture setups like you could in old opera, and the tab display (open last, open next, etc) like old opera? Thanks.

Yes. In settings. If that doesn't give you the exact settings you want there are also extensions you can load into Opera that can further tweak it. I use one called Classic tabs but I am sure there are others that do similar work. Experiment until you find what you like.

For me, closing a tab goes left-to-right ...

For me, it goes left to right about 75-90% of the time, then sometimes goes back one or forward a few. = (
