Is it possible to give nicknames to bookmarks in Opera version [whatever after 12]?

You can edit bookmarks and change their titles, is that what you're asking?
No, I mean like you for instance type 'opera' and it will send you to the forums, if that is your nickname for the forums. Thanks leocg.

There might be an extension that does this, I don't know. Something to look into though.
There is a kludge to get it to do what you want though. Create a custom search engine and assign it a keyword such as 'opera' and simply point it directly to the URL you wish to use. When you type that into the address bar and follow it with a space it will go directly to the URL. So type 'opera ' and hit enter. Its not ideal but it does work.

Hm, it actually doesn't work, if I just type the search word it brings me to... Google?!

You have to have a space after it. No space = doesn't work. I did mention that.

I know this is a very old post, but "nicknames" (or "keywords") is a feature that I'm going to sorely miss if I'm going to make the transition from Firefox.
