      Hi there!

      today opera asked me if I would like to install the new version. I installed. Then I deinstalled the old opera version. After that, I realized, that the new opera hastt anymore the integrated mail programme. So I installed opera mail, too and tried to import the old mail. since I havent backupped my mails for some years, it seems to me, that all is lost.
      Is there a chance to get back my mails?

      thank you!

        If - when uninstalling the old version - you told it to delete your user data as well, then it is gone. If you declined the option to delete your data and only deleted the program, then it is still there somewhere.

        The default location depends on your version of Windows, your username and the name of the folder Opera was installed in; on Windows 7 it would look something like this:

        Opera directory: C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\Opera{Opera}
        Root mail directory: C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Opera{Opera}\mail\

        Where I inserted {username} is your username, where it has {Opera} is the name of the folder Opera was installed to (usually Opera, but you'll see it if you get that far). But it does vary from version to version on Windows and also depends on your system language. Go into Folder Options in the Control Panel to enable showing hidden files - usually the "AppData" folder in those paths is hidden.
