Sad...
I thought Opera was a visionary company, but it seems like it is not..
Opera don't have idea how many people uses Opera mini on emulators.. -

The advantages are the same that you see in mobile devices...
At least Opera could create an official extension for use with the desktop browser.

I really can't see the advantages for the users.
Can't you see Leo? They'd be able to break every website in their desktop too. :jester:

Main advantage is data saving, yes.
But achieve the same using turbo? Is this a joke?
Turbo don't save as much data as mini.
Have you ever did a comparison?
Mini for PC would be a plus for everyone...
I use micro emulator and bluestacks for this kind of things, but the experience is not smooth as it should be.
UC browser made a PC version of his browser (nice try by the way), but the data saving is not that great.
So, mini for PC FTW... -

Opera Mini could be added as alternative for Turbo, in he same way as Opera Mini for iOS.

@sydneyne: Good idea.
And I think it wouldn't be too hard to implement, since it already exist for iOS.... -

I agree with leocg and rafaelluik. The thing is that when you use your mobile phone, you're often on a slow and expensive network where you have to pay more, the more you browse. But when you use your PC, you're instead often on a network with unlimited internet at a higher speed. The need for Opera Mini on PCยดs is much smaller than on phones.
And btw, actually you can use Opera Mini on your PC: https://dev.opera.com/articles/installing-opera-mini-on-your-computer/

That's not always the case.
For instance, I often use the WiFi hotspot feature of my phone to navigate in my computer, because in my country there's no such thing as unlimited internet at a low price. The cheaper unlimited internet the you can get here is around 400$ for month, and as you can see it's expensive as hell.. So you get the picture...And yes, I know about emulators and stuff (I use them), but like I said in post #8, it's not smooth as it should be.
OM for PC ftw....
