Why two search bars in SpeedDial?

When I go to SpeedDial I see a URL/search box at the top of the screen under the tab and I also see a Google search bar taking up a lot of space below that. Not sure what the point of having the two separate bars using screen space.
Any way to get rid of the big Google box and move everything up on the screen?
Thanks very much.

yes
I guess you talking about those two ?to remove big google search box from speed dial, click the cog in upper right corner and from sidebar un-check search box
to remove search box next to address bar, open settings--browser--click show advanced settings and un-check enable search box...

Thank you. Think we're moving in the right direction. Would be really helpful if I could post images here.
"from sidebar un-check search box"
Not seeing that. I'm seeing this

What I really want to get rid of, what waste a ton of screen space, is this

Not seeing advanced settings in the sidebar. Think there's a problem with discoverability in the interface design.
