there is an export functionality on settings page -

Was that last post some kind of spam?
(Ha Ha a little joke). You created the "V7 Bookmarks" extension and took your sweet time telling me about it.
I'm an old man and need a nap before I check out your extension. It looks complicated to my old, tired and feeble mind.
The "Bookmarks Import & Export" extension works well, but it only does imports and exports.

@dadgren
yea, I'm the author
don't worry...there are big green buttons for everything (export etc)
in previous post you wrote that Bkm export import extension doesn't work -

I was trying to say the procedures suggested from my Google search did not work. For example one said open Opera settings then click on import and export - so that one did not work because I could not find import and export anywhere in settings.
I should have been more clear that the "Bookmarks Import & Export" extension works very well.
I wish I could edit that earlier post because I see your point my earlier post is confusing.
If that extension did not work I would not have posted a link to it.
Just to be clear the link below is to an extension that works well.

Those are instructions for Opera Presto (Opera 12.18 and older) and they do not apply for Opera Chromium (Opera 15+).

it's for separators... to better organize your bookmarks, if you need that...
YT video example -

I had to watch the YT video several times to get it. I wish I could have played it in slow motion.
That's not your fault obviously you understand how to use your V7 Bookmarks extension very well.I have only encountered one problem with it. I do not like that when closed, the left edge of my screen is not usable. For example I am in the habit of moving my pointer to the left edge of my screen when scrolling. That is just a habit I have.
Anyway I am suggesting that if possible when closed a dark star could be in the area to the right of my Opera address bar. Almost every other extension is positioned in that area.
Because there are people with different skill levels that might not understand that you posted a link to V7 Bookmarks earlier I am going to post a traditional link below.

Hi @dadgarden
very often I get complains/request from users about things that I'm not able to control (like width of the sidebar etc...)
so, here are some plain stuff, maybe you are aware of it maybe not... anyway, others can benefit
- sidebar is part of Opera UI (user interface) and it is hard-coded in Opera
- it is a surface for extensions to live/work in it (something like popup showed on toolbar buttons click, "usual" Chrome extensions)
- sidebar works in two stages
a) not visible at all, user must open it from O-menu>Extensions>Sidebar (or CTRL+SHIFT+S)
b) if it's visible, it may or may not have extension active/opened in it - installed sidebar extensions have icons on sidebar buttons list (narrow stripe on the left edge) for open/close them
- extensions can NOT control dimensions of the sidebar, only users by action (eg. grab and resize) and sidebar extensions can not start on it's own, only by user actions, clicking sidebar button or with keyboard shortcut (if sidebar stripe is visible)
couple of my other sidebar extensions have sidebar button to open/close them, AND toolbar button for extra features
but click on toolbar button (next to address bar) can't open sidebar extension... it's not meant to do that by design
...and like i wrote before, I can't control that sidebar stripe on the left edge (you wrote that you can't scroll page if you push mouse far left) -

Thanks, the CTRL+SHIFT+S is exactly what I was looking for and would not have found that shortcut by myself.
