Do I really need to point the PROs of having this feature?
Pointing the reasons for which a feature/option would be useful for most users and therefore should be added is always good.
Well, I like it on the left side, and he likes it on the right side. Do we really need more reasons?

hmm PROs.. let me see, what if someone has a problem on his left eye, nah im joking, it's just a habbit of mine, having it in the right side, I dunno why, but for me, it's much easier to look at/work with.
I think there aren't many pros that one can point out.

On a ideal world, probably not. However we don't live in one.
We spend so much time to deal with RTL languages, but we can not move the sidebar to the right, or move the buttons on the toolbar.

Never saw this thread. I thought I was the only one who finds this left side annoying. I mean, I am a righty, I hold the mouse in my right hand and everything in my mind is skewed to the right. But I am being forced to go way over there to get things done. Totally throws me off and is just too much work. Ditto for back buttons.
Thanks god for back gestures

I'd love to have the option of moving those buttons to the bottom of the Speed Dial page again. In a perfect world, a user could drag their button bar to the Left, Right, or Bottom of the screen. It would also be nice to have the ability to rearrange the order of the buttons.

I don't want the buttons at all, but the ability to move them out of the way made them tolerable. I'll be checking out other browser options while the opera developers decide whether or not to continue to dictate what their users personal preferences should be.

Yeah, the buttons removal would be quite a nice addition, specially when there are a bunch of icons (specially Extensions) occupying that space unnecessarily... Something similar to Firefox, a panel where one can store the icons, move from the panel to the toolbar or from the toolbar to the panel.

You can hide the navbar in v37 by removing the buttons from it in the start page config panel.

We're talking about the Navbar (the one which has back/forward arrows, address/search bar) not the start page thing.

That is called the toolbar.

Is is possible in v36 to move the 'Navigation Panel' (the five vertical icons on the left of the screen) to somewhere else. Or, even better, to remove them completely. Any help appreciated. Tom

in version 36 is not possible
only in dev 37 (not sure about beta)
if you are using developer maybe, simply uncheck all of them from settings sidebar -

I've spent quite a bit of time going through all the settings (with advanced turned on), and cannot see any way of getting rid of (or moving) the Navigation icons. Even with Developer tools enabled I can't see anything useful...
Also, I have noticed the background/theme picture is now much darker. But only on the speed-dial/start page. The image is its usual vivid self when on the settings page. -

You cannot move the navigation icons from the sidepanel to some place else, the only thing you can do is remove them.
