How is the latest Opera version panning out? I confess, I still use 12.7 and Vivaldi. Has Opera caught up, yet? Any change in Opera manager team responsible for the post 12.7 shambles? I simply cannot believe all that was down to the devs.

Either use it or don't. Its a different browser created from the ground up. Different philosophy too. After trying to be the end all be all of browsers and getting slightly better than zero market share because of it they are trying a different approach. It will never incorporate the same features that Opera 12 did because of that. Try Vivaldi if thats the kind of browser you are looking for.

Opera doesn't need to "catch up" as you put it. Opera is its own browser with its own unique capabilities. If they don't suit you, stick with what you already have and stop whining.

Opera 34 has bookmarks, if you're worried about that. I don't think it'll ever be as customizable as Presto was. Currently Vivaldi is more customizable (though it'll never be Presto either) while Opera has Sync and Turbo ... so depends which features you find more important.

Naah, Vivaldi doesn't show extensions' buttons. And you can't customise the position and/or availability of UI elements yet (despite what they claim on their homepage). And it doesn't have "fit to width" yet. And it's "native" window view isn't really native (on Windows 7 with the Classic theme, both Vivaldi and Opera Blink show blue windows borders instead of grey ones, and neither of them show the title of the program in the title bar). But other than that, Vivaldi is getting close to being a good replacement for Opera 12.17.

"Up to scratch" ?? My word, it is far better than scratch! Lovely and glitch free; bookmark manager fantastic!

I used early versions, too...the last 12.17, but '34' and now '35' are great and a LOOOONG way from 'shambles'.

I'm with The Others, use whatever floats your boat....but you'd be better off LEARNING '35'..........

Zoom wheel? If you mean hold Shift and scroll the wheel to zoom, yes.

Yes, Shift+scroll does zoom in in Opera Blink... but the text doesn't reflow like in Opera 12.

'Word wrap' works fine here but it depends on the page. If the page uses scaling it will reflow. If it is fixed width then it will not and you will have to scroll left and right to see everything.

No, not control + wheel, I use that in other browsers because I can't do any better. I mean the sliding button thing where one can just hover over it and spin the wheel like in old opera. I suppose I should have said zoom slider to avoid confusion

That's another reason why I still use 12.17, the fit to width function, I even have it as a right click menu item. Wikipedia is an example of a page that will "reflow"
