Opera did have this feature in the past.

Why they abandon this feature I'm not sure. I would very much like to see it come back. Since their new browser is based on Chromium it shouldn't be that difficult.

The authors of the technology used by Opera had dropped support for long before Opera removed the feature. It simply was not working anymore.
