I think most browsers deletes the settings.sol file, when clearing plugin data. And yes, that's not good, since it resets changed settings to default. I have found that CCleaner (when Flash Player checked) does NOT do that, while still deleting other Flash temp files. But it seems only work with Opera 12, but not with Opera Cromium.

To clear Opera's cache etc, i use 'SingleClick Cleaner' add-on with "Clear plug-in data" UNchecked, since that also deletes the flash settings file. What i have done, is created CCleaner custom INCLUDE rule to clean C:\Users*USER*\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\WritableRoot#SharedObjects*THIS VARY*\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys folder. Then created EXCLUDE rule to keep the settings.sol file. So it then deletes all the unneeded temp files/folders, but keeps the settings file.

But that still keeps visited domains in the settings file itself, so you can see the sites when going to the Settings manager. I don't know how to remove those entries automatically.

Just installed the new Opera 33 stable. This security problem is still not fixed.

It only happens if you have checked "Delete cookies and other site data" under "Clear browsing data". I guess Flash security settings are considered "other site data"? Which is ridiculous.

          Beware.

XP Pro 32-bit, Opera 33.0.1990.43, latest pepper Flash 19.0.0.226.

There is nothing to be fixed. PPAPI Flash settings are stored as cookies and/or local storage data and when you delete cookies and local storage data, all of those data will be deleted, including the settings for flash player.

It will probably happen on all browsers that use ppapi flash.

            Because they are.

You're quite mistaken. It's ridiculous that if you want to delete cookies, you also reset security settings. It's a security issue. And how many people even know that they reset their Flash security settings when they deleted cookies?

Please don't post worthless contradictions when I'm trying to inform people about this problem.

So are you saying you believe that giving browser plug-ins access to write/alter files on the host computer is more secure than denying such access and only granting them rights to set cookies or use local storage (which is what the PPAPI implementation essentially does)?

This is how Adsobe set things up in ppapi flash, there is almost notyhing Opera can do. The same probably happens in Chrome and other Chromium based browsers unless they block deletion of flash related cookies.

And how many people even know that they reset their Flash security settings when they deleted cookies?

Sorry to say but 99% of people really don't care about it, they just want to watch their online videos and so on.

                      The people from Opera Help

There are no such people, which is why they aren't doing anything.

should be giving us solutions on this problem

Flash stores its security settings in cookies. Opera does not make Flash, Adobe makes Flash. Its not an Opera problem.
