Opera Link will close in December 2015

In December 2015, we will close Opera Link and the OAuth public API. Your Opera Link data will stop syncing to our cloud servers and link.opera.com will be unavailable. OAuth services will also be limited soon.
TL;DR: We're super sorry, but we have to close Opera Link. It might be time for you to upgrade to the newest versions of Opera and migrate to the new sync service offered in them.
Unfortunately, our little team can't keep up with the maintenance and development of two syncing services functioning with two different code bases. We’ve tried to keep Opera Link alive as long as we could, but it’s time we focus on expanding the services offered in our new syncing features available in Opera Mini (iOS and Android 2.3+), Opera for Android, and the new, Chromium/Blink-based versions of Opera for computers.
What does this mean for you? Well, if you've been using Opera Link – on basic phones, on devices running older versions of Android or through link.opera.com – you'll lose a little functionality. Your bookmarks will no longer sync to our servers and link.opera.com will be unavailable. Your bookmarks will still be on your device, and the Opera browser will still work.
But, we’ve built a tool for you, and we recommend that you migrate some of your Opera Link data to the new sync service. If you migrate, you can still access your bookmarks from the web when Opera Link closes. If you start using an Opera browser that supports our new sync services, your bookmarks will sync to that browser.
If you've been developing apps that work with our Opera Link API and auth servers, soon our OAuth pages will become inaccessible, and you will no longer be able to manage settings for the applications you've created. And, the eventual close of Opera Link may mean some poor experiences for your users. We apologize for this, and we're looking into new ways for you to continue to develop and support our browser efforts.
But! If you're one of those die-hard Opera 12 users or settled into using an older version of Opera Mini, you have options. Don't get us wrong - we love you and realize you represent a sizeable section of this company's opinion. Think of turning off Opera Link as another little push we're making to get you on board with the newer versions of Opera – the ones we're actively developing that are up to date with the latest security and stability.
Download a new version and start using the new service. We think you’ll find it more intuitive. It's in the background, so it's one of those things that just works. Check out what you can sync with it. When you install the new version, your bookmarks should import automatically. If they don't, use the new site to migrate some of your Opera Link data to your new Opera browser.
We're here to answer your questions and help everyone out through this transition period. We're more than happy that you choose to browse with us, so, if you've got something to say, let us know. We're listening. Cheers!

it is very sad to know u are stopping the sync service of opera link very sad the new sync service even dont work like old and also it is more then one year and still opera mini for windows dont have book mark sync
-
it is painful to see you could have devloped the same opera link in bettterway so all versions of platform could have used the same and in bettter way the new sync service even dont stand to old opera link service which is very efficient and reliable
-
what the use of new platforms and update services when they dont work as per expectaion and neither windows team has any interest to give us book mark sycronisation service after 1 year? why
-
pl update us will this new sync service will be also used for windows book mark which is still missing
-
how do u expect symbian users to solve there book mark issue when it will not support your new service pl update us why they should suffer ???
there are some technical questions that the sync services should have been introduced for all platforms and I fail to say opera for andriod gets very frequent updates and windows lacking very much in back days???
pl develop tool for us so we symbian users dont suffer and can use new sync services can we expect that??

So is that correct, there will be no way to access bookmarks online from any browser in an internet cafe? I always have to use an installed Opera browser on my personal PC/tablet/phone?

Time to fully move to Firefox. Opera 12 and Symbian users are kicked out!
With the Firefox add-on Xmarks you can access and even change your bookmarks online in any browser. The only downside: Firefox is not available for Symbian.

https://sync.opera.com/web/ is a new place to access synchronized data. It provides for now read-only access to your bookmarks, Speed Dial entries and devices. In the upcoming weeks history and open tabs will be supported.

Sorry to say but Symbian is dead there is no meaning in developing something for it.
Although I fully agree with you, nobody here even mentioned a need for NEW functionality.

Sync is a new functionality. They would have to code it for Symbiam and there is no meaning in supporting a dead OS.

Sync maybe is, but Link isn't.
The issue here isn't that the dull old thing has to die, everything dull and old does. It's that the shiny new thing doesn't shine yet. It still needs more elbow grease.

So, let me just see if I am getting this right..
The dull old thing is getting the chair. The shiny new thing is senile and repeats itself. And in the meantime, the dull old thing dies from stress.
Wow!
