      Hey,

Been scouring the online help articles with no joy, so apologies if there is an obvious answer and I'm just a terrible searcher.

I'm using Opera Mail, and I need to set up another mail client with the same details. Is there a simple way to get hold of the incoming IMAP and outgoing SMTP server passwords? I don't have them to hand, and I would rather not bother the chap running the server my mail goes through if I can help it.

      Thanks for any responses. 🙂

There are ways in Opera 12, but not in the standalone mail client.

See http://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/m2tips/enable_logging for how to get the SMTP password data. You can then base64-decode it (using an online decoder or local decoded or javascript etc.) to get the actual password.

That won't work for the IMAP/POP server though, but if it's the same as the SMTP's, you'll be good to go.

There are OperaPassView and WebBrowserPassView that can be used to deobfuscate Opera and Opera Mail's wand.dat. However, currently, those programs only retrieve browser passwords from the file an not mail passwords.

Thanks for the response 🙂 I've caved and spoken to the guy running my server though. He reset my password and all is good. 😃
