I have an extension called Gmail Notifier Plus and every time I receive a message (should make a sound and show a desktop notification popup for new emails), the browser closes and then opens automatically and then after 2 seconds (when supposedly should make a sound again and show the pop because I didn't read the message) it crashes again, closes and opens. This happens a few times until the browsers just closes and never opens automatically again. I also noticed that when this happens, sometimes, the browser initiates without the extensions activated (I assume it is to protect the user in case something like the problem I have happens). I've tried both Gmail Notifier and Gmail Notifer Plus and they both have the same problem. This started happening since 2 versions ago, I'm not sure if the problem is in the new versions or the windows 10.

        Is it an extension?
        For Opera or for Chrome/Chromium?
If the latter, do you have a Google Chrome - in case it's not exactly an Opera issue?
Have you googled or checked certain support/geek forums if it's the extension and it's been already reported/compromised?

This is the extension I am talking about:

          https://addons.opera.com/pt/extensions/details/fastest-gmail-notifier/?display=en

I've searched about the problem but the best I could find was people saying that Opera was crashing every time they get a message in whatsup.

If the problem is with an extensdion then you should contact its author too.

Have the same problem as pedro2mp describe, and can't find any solution...>

Extensions fit into a browser; browsers don't fit into extensions. When or if a browser design changes, a few extensions may no longer work for various reasons. It's up to the extension developer to resolve that issue, perhaps with some help or information from the browser developer, but the ball is in the extension developer's court to get things working again.

This breakage problem happens all the time with other browsers and their extensions, and frankly, it's one of the major reasons I don't like the extension approach to browser design - it complicates the responsibility for 'making things work' with regard to certain features that some users rely upon. But, for design/test cost reasons, it's the way browsers are increasingly crafted these days, so my opinions aren't worth much. In any case, the net result is that if you've become truly dependent on a feature whose extension breaks and doesn't seem to get resolved by its developers, either you'll have to change your browsing habits or migrate to a different browser in which the feature can be made to work.
