Auto Update on Linux?

I read news about Opera 27 release.
I wonder if Linux version have auto update feature, or should I update it by my self?Thanks!

Auto-update on Linux is complicated, as there are so many different package managers and it may not be safe to update without the package manager. Previously they have had their own little Debian-style repository so that Debian-based systems (including Ubuntu) could add it as a source and then the package manager would notify you of updates - I expect they will do that with the new version as well. But as I use one of the RPM-based distros it has never helped me.

i agree with sgunhouse. besides i'm not so sure you really want something to update automatically on linux. because for an update you need root privileges, and you certainly wouldn't want someone you don't trust to gain these. i, for one, sometimes not even trust myself.

If you use the official package our repository is added and it will update.

We still do
one of the RPM-based distros it has never helped me.
