Chrome Applications

Hello!
I know that you can successfully use Chrome Extensions but unfortunately you cannot use Chrome Applications (from Chrome store). Is there a workaround how to get them work in Opera? Will they be supported officially in future Opera versions?
Thanks & regards!

It's a shame. Opera stalled halfway ... you can use Chrome extensions but not Chrome applications

You can't use Chrome anything without downloading a special extension for it and you will receive zero support if those Chrome extensions don't work as expected. There are several that don't. Officially only Opera extensions work with Opera. Anything else you get on top of that is a bonus.

Maybe if they simply built-in support for the Chrome store rather than relying on a year-old extension from an entity called "theprovider" (who IS that anyway?) then this wouldn't be an issue. Other browsers not Chrome have done this, such as Slimjet, which "just works" with both extensions and apps from the Chrome store. So, this isn't some pipe dream, it's actually possible.

Sure its possible, but thats not what Opera is trying to be. They are trying to make their browser different from Chrome even though they share code. While they aren't there yet the browser is yet young. They aren't trying to be just a slightly different clone of Chrome. That means maintaining compatibility with Chrome extensions and apps, especially with their much smaller dev team, would not be possible. Thats why some extensions don't work.
