      Hello Everyone:

      Specs:

      Windows XP
      Opera 29.0.1795.60
      Adobe Shockwave Player Plug-In Installed
      Adobe Flash Player Installed

When I went to a webpage that required these plug-ins, a message came up stating that the plug-ins could not be detected.

I went to Adobe's website to test them and both are installed in Opera. Both are listed as NPAPI. I went to the Opera Plug-In page and they are listed as 'Enabled.'

These plug-ins work in IE, Firefox, and Chrome.

      How can this be fixed?

Get the PPAPI versions and see if it still happens.

By downloading and installing them from the Adobe website.

Do I have to uninstall NPAPI either before installing PPAPI or after installing PPAPI or can NPAPI and PPAPI be installed together?

Opera is not recognizing Shockwave but there is no PPAPI for that.

I manually click on the arrow to test Shockwave but it states that it cannot load the plug-in.

Also, is there a way to 'edit' a previous post?

Yes. You have 30 minutes to edit a post by click the gear icon under your headshot picture.

As for Shockwave, there are places that still use that?

Yes, certain websites still use Shockwave so I like to have it installed.

Anyway, when I manually click on the arrow to test Shockwave, it states that it cannot load the plug-in.

Shockwave is recognized by IE, Firefox, and Chrome but not Opera.

I don't want to be a party poop but I do want to note that XP isn't officially being supported by MS anymore. Here's not saying you shouldn't be using it (I have many friends who still do) but do keep in mind that it is possible for software to misbehave because they stopped supporting it as well.

XP is NOT the issue because Shockwave is recognized by IE, Firefox, and Chrome but not Opera.

Yes, certain websites still use Shockwave. When I test it at Adobe's website, it states that it cannot load the plug-in.

                          1. How do I access 'Drafts' that I have saved?

                          2. If I click on the 'Quotation' icon by mistake, how can I 'cancel' it so that the message is not display? I had to put a dot in body because it would not allow blank text to be cancelled.

                            Can someone please help me?

                            Specs:

                            Windows XP Opera 29.0.1795.60

Originally, Shockwave and Flash were only listed as NPAPI so I installed Flash PPAPI (There is no PPAPI for Shockwave).

Now, Shockwave is still 'not' recognized when tested at Adobe's website using Opera and Flash 'is' recognized when tested at Adobe's website using Opera but not recognized on websites that require the Flash plug-in 9I fill out music surveys with audoio clips that require Flash).

I went back to Adobe's website using Opera and Flash is still recognized.

Shockwave and Flash are being recognized by IE, Firefox, and Chrome but not Opera.

                            Any ideas?

                              Additional Comment:

Adobe Flash Player Version 17.0.r0 and Adobe Shockwave Player Version 12.1.8.158 are listed and 'Enabled' in the Plug-In list.

The Shockwave and Flash Plug-In issue has been resolved-How do I 'mark this thread as answered?'

                                1. If I click 'Save Draft' while composing a post, How do I access it again?

                                2. If I click on the 'Quotation' link by mistake, how can I 'cancel' the post so that the message is not displayed? I had to put a dot in the message because it would not allow blank text to be cancelled.

Just select the text and delete the unwanted part before clicking on "post comment".

                                    Leocg:

I will be clearer in what I am asking:

                                    1. If I click on the 'Quotation' link by mistake and do not want to post/reply to a thread, how can I 'cancel' it? It would not allow me to cancel a blank message box so I had to put a dot in the message box and post it.

                                    2. How do I access 'Saved Drafts?'

                                    3. How do I 'mark this thread as answered?'

Why do you have to post if you don't want to do it?

You don't. But i will do it.

                                        I will be crystal-clear!

                                        1. If I intended to click 'Reply' but clicked 'Quote' instead, how do I 'cancel' it without entering text?

How do I access a 'Saved Draft?'

                                          Don't know.

If I intended to click 'Reply' but clicked 'Quote' instead, how do I 'cancel' it without entering text?

There is no "reply" so you can't click on it instead of "quote".

If you click on "quote" button by mistake and don't want to reply to the topic you can just do one of the following:

                                          • Select the text and delete it;
                                          • Click on the back button to return to the list of topics;
                                          • Scroll to the top of the page and click on the gray box with the name of the forum
