Nope, the problem still occurs. I don't think that is the cause (but I've tried it anyway, a help better than none).

"Ghosted" target in shorcut are usual, even for Microsoft product (something like this isn't? http://i.imgur.com/Bdx08Iq.png)

      Any other thoughts?

Nah, sorry, that's all I have. As that's what I did when I was having similar problems and seemed to work. The new shortcut's "target" is an actual file location and editable.

It seems the 27.0.1689.66 update today fixed it, not much though, I still notice 40-50% GPU usage when loading a page, but somehow it drops quickly making it better than before. Thanks.

I've also been having trouble with v27. I think it has more to do with the Chrome engine that opera uses as I see the same CPU issues if I use chrome. I downloaded and installed v26 and things are back to 'normal' now.

i am getting random pauses like just typing this box right now the words are some times delayed (27.0.1689.66) and watching videos is not really possible as the video payback pauses and resumes (sound does not stop)

as Opera is basically Chr"me now with each tab has its own process not sure what its doing it (i could understand it doing it on opera 12.17 as all runs under one process but not on Chr"mium based browser)

That makes zero sense. Why would the number of processes effect whether you knew what it was doing or not?

Sadly Opera 27.0.1689.69 has problem again 😞

I don't know why does loading a simple, non-hitech HTML5 website even consuming 40-50% of GPU power...

I've tried other browsers (*fox based, chrome), none has this kind of problem. Sure they also use GPU too, but its usage isn't as high as Opera.

And we dont know the URL of this website or if the HTML5 markup, JS and CSS is valid.

Apparently, disabling the hardware acceleration helps in here. No GPU usage at all, and still fast enough. I really recommend to turn that off on laptop.

Using Opera 27.0.1689.76 under Windows 8, I seem to be again suffering from an old problem: pages don't stop loading unless I tell them to stop. This can slow things down.
