Opera 27.0.1689.54 Performance Trouble

Hi,
I notice there's something strange with latest Opera 27.0.1689.54 (which labeled "stable"). In my laptop, everytime I open a new site in a new tab or click a link (any kinds of links, secure or non secure), suddenly there's an increase (spiking) of CPU usage up to 50-65%. I checked it with Process Explorer (Sysinternals), along with it, the GPU also somehow, increase, around 20-30%. This is quite annoying when I open several tabs (6-8), it drains battery faster, and warmer. The spikes will down when the page is fully loaded, but this is quite annoying especially when I tried multitasking (open several tabs, click on some link, switch to other while waiting it's loaded). My specs are i7-3520M, 4GB (slot), Intel HD 4000.
Previous version (Opera 26) didn't have this problem. It occurs ever since I upgrade to 27. Reinstalling didn't solve, and I've checkup for any malicious programs that might run, there's none. So obviously it's Opera's.
And I can't downgrade back to 26, the installer stated that user data was incompatible because it's newer, damn.
Please check this out. Thanks.

Hi, I was having similar trouble with severe performance issues and I think I may have found a solution the problem. For whatever reason the shortcut on your desktop is... Messed up?
So here's what you need to do, or at least what seemed to work for me.
Go to c:\program files\opera
Go through the list and look for the Opera "O" logo, should be a link called "Opera" and named as an application. First double-click on this and ensure that it opens up your current version of Opera (depending on a number of factors there may be more than one of these.) and that it opens stable and in proper working order. If it works for you like it did for me it should. Right click on this file's icon and create a shortcut to your desktop.
I've no clue what happened here with the latest version of Opera but in trying to figure out this problem and in checking things I checked the original desktop shortcut and it's "Target" was ghosted-out and didn't have Opera's start-up file location in it. For whatever goofy reason this still opened Opera but opened it with a fit that caused severe performance issues.
Recreating a shortcut with the proper target location in it solved all of the problems.
For me at least.

Nope, the problem still occurs. I don't think that is the cause (but I've tried it anyway, a help better than none).
"Ghosted" target in shorcut are usual, even for Microsoft product (something like this isn't? http://i.imgur.com/Bdx08Iq.png)
Any other thoughts?

Nah, sorry, that's all I have. As that's what I did when I was having similar problems and seemed to work. The new shortcut's "target" is an actual file location and editable.

It seems the 27.0.1689.66 update today fixed it, not much though, I still notice 40-50% GPU usage when loading a page, but somehow it drops quickly making it better than before. Thanks.

I've also been having trouble with v27. I think it has more to do with the Chrome engine that opera uses as I see the same CPU issues if I use chrome. I downloaded and installed v26 and things are back to 'normal' now.

i am getting random pauses like just typing this box right now the words are some times delayed (27.0.1689.66) and watching videos is not really possible as the video payback pauses and resumes (sound does not stop)
as Opera is basically Chr"me now with each tab has its own process not sure what its doing it (i could understand it doing it on opera 12.17 as all runs under one process but not on Chr"mium based browser)

That makes zero sense. Why would the number of processes effect whether you knew what it was doing or not?

Sadly Opera 27.0.1689.69 has problem again
I don't know why does loading a simple, non-hitech HTML5 website even consuming 40-50% of GPU power...
I've tried other browsers (*fox based, chrome), none has this kind of problem. Sure they also use GPU too, but its usage isn't as high as Opera.

And we dont know the URL of this website or if the HTML5 markup, JS and CSS is valid.

Apparently, disabling the hardware acceleration helps in here. No GPU usage at all, and still fast enough. I really recommend to turn that off on laptop.

Using Opera 27.0.1689.76 under Windows 8, I seem to be again suffering from an old problem: pages don't stop loading unless I tell them to stop. This can slow things down.
