I also have a USB thumb drive inserted in the same computer............
I copied the Opera installation file 11.5x to this USB thumb drive, I supposed to install to the thumb drive.
Opera installer still DIMMED the option of standalone install.
Thanks

Well, I've come across some hints that Presto Operas can become unsupportable in these newer Windowses.
You may consider dual booting if your machine's specs are good enough. -

Thanks!
Back to Window 8.1 environment , How I can overcome the following errors.............
I am adminstator in Window 8.1, install standalone, proceed okay..............
until, when I choose from Program file, open new folder ' Opera ' , okay.
Then, Window 8.1 tells me I do not have permission to continue the installation.
Thank you
