Are Browsers (inc Opera) Moving Away From PC

The reason I ask - I had an old rickety PC that was churning away happily using Windows XP. It crashed earlier in the week and I had to buy a new PC.
Installation of new software and browsers and Opera seems to have moved more to tablets rather than PC users.
I understand why - but surely it would be prudent to have PC compatible software rather than the shite that seems to be designed for mobiles and tablets.
I don't think Opera 26 is designed for PC's...which is a shame, as the early versions were the best browsers on the market and put Microsoft to shame.

I find it hard to disagree I'm afraid.
All current software developers, at least those who aspire to the mass market, have to take the use of touch operated smartphones and tablets into account now.
It's such a shame that so many are consequentially apparently ignoring the needs of traditional mouse and keyboard desktop system users, Windows 8/8.1 being a prime example.
