Is there a (compact) bookmark/shortcut bar?

Opera Old had a kind of shortcut bar with customizable buttons that were essentially bookmarks. Is this something Opera New has, or is there an add-on? (I can't find it)...

What I liked about it, was that is was very small and compact, thus allowing one to have lots of buttons without wasting too much screen space.

Opera 26 does have a bookmarks bar that can be enabled in Settings. It doesn't seem quite as compact on-screen as the one in Opera 12 was, but it isn't huge either - if you don't like it you can always turn it back off.
