      Hi all,
I subscribed to this site because i'm a user of Opera since a lot of years, with great satisfaction, but now with upgrade to 18
      started all my problems..
For me, the most annoying are these two:

      1) Speed dial without possibility of customization, like was in older versions

      2) Removed possibility to save sites in format .mht

I hope soon all will be restored...

      Thanks.

        1) Some degree of speed dial customisation is available in the Developer version 20, so I guess it will make it to the final release later. You can customise the number of columns up to 7 columns, and set the size of the speed dials. You can import images to use as the background.

        2) I am not sure about saving *.mht files, whether that is planned or not.

Have a search of the Desktop Wish-list before posting feature requests there.

Indeed, the format selections for saving and opening files have been changed - narrowed down to one, to be precise.

But I think you've gotten the nature of that change wrong:
the option for saving web pages as .mht files has not been removed, it has in fact been made mandatory and unavoidable.

See here Opera 20: no more choice of file formats for saving & opening?

          >Version 20 now always saves all page content (HTML, images, scripts, etc) in MHTML format, by unchangeable default.

MHTML is the name of the file format, and .mht is just a commonly used extension for it.

Have been using Opera for years. Love the program. But just in the last day I have lost all my speed dial objects, and there are many, and appear to have gone completely. Only the first one and the new addition plus square, that's two, that remain out of thirty plus folders. Is there some limit that caused this to happen? Is there some way to have them recreated?

Which version of Opera? Anything unusual happened before the SD entries were gone?

After thinking a while...I'm a little slow, the only thing that may have been different was the appearance of the new start page appeared and I was not expecting it. Did figure out the corner change over to the old SD, but at that time, the old SD was fine. Didn't even try to use the new format. I began using a lot of references to painting images from artists like Van Gogh, Turner, Sisley etc. Had about 12 or so in a new SD folder. That was the only change that I can think of.

So no crashes or something like this?

I was thinking that maybe a corrupted file may have caused the problem.
