On the entry for the tab in the panel.
Icon on the very bar?
It seems to me that I did. There were three options, and none of them resembled what we're talking about, IIRC. (Note that I have this built "localised" like pseudorussian, so... But if you mean the last, third item (option), that one 'sounded' to me like "remove from panel" not "close" (Or was it third?).) -

I've got Activate, Restore, Minimise, Maximise, Pin Tab, Close, and Reload, in that order, if I right click on the panel entry for a tab.

On the icon???
I have nothing that way. Almost.
(Although, when I opened Opera now, nothing booed me. ) -

I have 'Activate'| 'Restore', 'Minimise', 'Maximise'| 'Pin Tab'| 'Close'| 'Detach'| 'Reload' when I right click on an entry in the 'Windows' section of the panel.
Oh, and don't forget joshl, we are all running different version of Opera Presto, Me 12.14, you 11.52 if I remember correctly ?, and Dave is running 12.17 as far as I know. So there will be differences.

Give us a screenshot of your menu, Josh.
The furthest left entries are windows, next are either tabs or groups. If it's a group, the items below that are tabs. Not sure what a detached tab looks like (on versions which still allowed it) ... either way, something without a "+" or "-" is either an empty window or a tab. Get one of those programs that'll take a timed screenshot, right-click on a tab (in the panel) and wait for the screenshot.

My leftest bar is fairly like that leftest in the image - in principle.
What'd you like? The context menu on them icons?Get one of those programs that'll take a timed screenshot, right-click on a tab (in the panel) and wait for the screenshot.
That I've no idea what're you talking about.

Do you use Windows? The free image viewer/editor Irfanview can be set to take a screenshot x seconds after you click the button, so that you have time to arrange the screen as desired. Or then there's the dedicated screenshot program Pesala was always recommending, Faststone Capture or whatever it was. (I suggest Irfanview so that you don't need a separate program to crop the unwanted parts.) Though technically you can do it with your PrtScr key and Paint, but last I saw Paint wouldn't save as JPEG or PNG ...

There's the Net.
I'll "crop" next time... Do you like the context menu of the leftest buttons/icons??? -

In the picture above, there are two windows listed. The first window contains one tab, the second window contains two grouped tabs. So from the top you see the first window, followed by its only tab. Third line is the second window, the tab group (4th line), then the two tabs. Not certain how the name for the group is chosen - maybe just the same name as the first tab in the group.

I'm lost, dude! I just got that damn' masterpiece to make sure people understand what the topic is about.
I'm not sure about your terms. I know what tab is. I thought I knew what a window is - but you said there are more than one in that damn' picture, and I've no idea now.:faint:
[add] Now I took one more look, and I have a suspicion you meant the content of that particular... Which has nothing to do with me (see that first time in my life). [/add]

joshl, whatever your definition of windows and tabs, the snapshot you posted shows a highlighted entry.
What happens if you right click on a highlighted entry like that one?
Do you get a pop-up menu?
If so, it should include a "close" option!

Dave, I reiterate: I posted an image from the Web - only to show exactly what the feature in question is.
As to the particular instance pictured, myself personally haven't used such lists yet in this panel - I only tried it once after the folks above started to ask those curious questions about'Windows' folders
or whatever they are. Those "highlighted things" may be interesting in cases, and are not off-topic at all, but they are irrelevant to my particular (initial) question. And I don't know. For now.
Though, if you really need it, I'll check next time with Opera...-_-By the way, congratulations with your 300!

Thanks, although it doesn't get me an extra icon. I'll get to 500 one day, what a pity all my posts on the old forum weren't counted!
Sorry I was misunderstanding, I hadn't properly understood that screen grab wasn't actually from your system.
Anyway, if you do have a list of open tabs in your side panel, try right clicking on their entries in the list and you should be able to fully close them from there, which I think was your original question!

It wasn't. Because I guess you mean regular tabs (a list of which is blah-blah-blah); regular tabs are o'k with me.

Closing the Hotlist ... F4 - depending on settings, F4 would either hide just the current panel or would hide the entire Hotlist (including the toolbar with the list of panels). The x doesn't hide the toolbar, since then you wouldn't be able to click to open one would you? ... though if you want, I suppose we could give you a custom button for that.

You originally asked "is there a way to actually close/deactivate the page I've been using in that panel?"
So, if you're weren't talking about closing tabs or windows from the list of them displayed in the "windows" sidebar/panel, what exactly did you mean?!
