Reinstating windows after last tab closed

Ive been using Opera for aeons but one thing that really ticks me off - and I have not been able to find the solution - is how to reinstate a window - even speed dial - once the last tab has been closed. I just get that Opera is open in the top tool bar but cant find the way to get any window back. Im sure there has to be an easier way than doing a quit and restart Opera

I think he/she means where to find the "Recently closed" menu.
I'm not sure where that is located in Mac's menu either, but I can search for it later.

I can find the last opened window but once the last tab has been closed there are no windows on show - unlike with PC where the default "shut down" position is speed dial. However clicking on any or all of them wont open up a window at all - you just get the top tool bar with whatever desktop picture you have on your mac. Ive tried right clicking on the Opera icon in the dock and selecting new window, new tab, show all windows but nothing! (Im a she btw - just to avoid the multiple key strokes LOL)

File>New tab gets you a new tab, but can you, on a mac, get closing the last active tab to return you to an open tab with your speed dials showing, as happens in windows and linux? I don't see why I should need to do that extra File> New tab step...
