This happens with every version since I've been trying to use Opera- half of year, I think.
The phone is LG p895. -

Sure, I wrote it before: Opera starts and works normally after cache and data clear. But it works for one start only. any further start ends with immediate crash.

Most probably your phone reported malformed font info. LG devices like to do that
Can you:
- clear cache/data
- go to Opera
- type debug: into address field
- send me what is your value of font_hash field

Well, I would be suprised if you'd succed...
On 2nd of June that font hash was deleted from servers, now your (or similar model with similar fonts) phone must do the font calculation and it should be fixed.
If not, please report and we'll try to find that crash of yours in logs.

Okay, great thanks for that attention to the problem. Should I reinstall Opera now? I did data wipe and after restart font_hash is still the same. And the browser stops as before immediately after second launch attempt.

Nah, data wipe shouldn't be needed. Can you provide me with your installation id? (Opera -> Settings -> scroll to the bottom)

Off-road mode may avoid that. It's the main behaviour of 4.0.4 stock browser to crash loading 5 megs like 5 pages of flashy things so it will be better to delete all personal data from Android and use Opera as main browser. Could be useful to use Opera over Wi-Fi to update some apps and check some youtube and yahoo links, these two apps beside ics browser interfere with all Opera products because tend to control the main connection which eventually must be optimized for clouding.

Thanks for your input man. The Android browser is disabled for a long time on my phone. Nevertheless, made all the things you describe. Same result. It works normally first time. And crashes immediately after second start attempt.

@dirgas it looks like you're telling an urban legend. xP
Yes, it really does. Saw a lot of same "solutions" before on different forums. But they have never worked.

There is not any crash related with Opera Mobile app, most likely you may have a bandwidth or app limitator or connection is reproxified. In short, http ping is on for apps in background because the socket as main connection is blocked for some reason (and perhaps not used) and in loading process Opera will fail so the same tab opened on a new data session will fail in the same way starting via HTTP protocol and fallback to another x-forwarded ip.

Haven't you noticed that bpydzinski is an Opera employee who said this is likely caused by the way LG devices report font info and that Opera is working in a fix in their side??
