      Hello,

This morning I received an update for Opera Stable 135.0.5973.133.

After an hour or so, I started getting random websites displaying broken, DevTools shows the ad blocker seems to be blocking some css and images.

I tried updating the lists but it's still the same, if I disable the ad blocker the website loads fine.

This is on Fedora Linux KDE 44, official Opera rpm package.

Example website, notice the "12 ads blocked" message in the popup:

@rick2 Getting the same issue with many websites suddenly failing to load. Disabling the built-in adblock worked for me too.

@rick2 same version, same issue even on Windows. Add blocker blocks loading even resources of localhost pages and even Opera's bug report page !

I wasn't able to figure out until I saw this post so I gave it a try.

              Without AdBlock

              With AdBlock

Huge headache, I'm honestly surprised there aren't more complaints than just these two users.

I can confirm this same issue happened too me. Had to disable built-in Adblock to fix the browser. Seems to be blocking major assets from sites not just ads.

Same issue here. Windows 10. It was happening with 135.0.5973.93 and I updated to 135.0.5973.133. It’s still happening. Alamo all sites have images, css, and JavaScript blocked. Turning off the adblocker results in pages loading correctly. I’ve also tried resetting Chrome’s settings to default minus profile data. That was no help.

Same here, on Windows 10. Started around 1 hr ago. Tried to update (now 135.0.5973.133), but still broken. Only switching off the ad blocker works. I also have uBlockOrigin, but that doesn't change anything.

Downgraded to the previous version downloading it from https://get.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera/desktop/135.0.5973.123/linux/

But I have another similar machine with that version and now that I check there, it's still broken.

So it seems it's not the new version but some broken blocklist 😞

The culprit Is the "Acceptable Ads" feature:

                            https://forums.opera.com/post/409354

Disabling it and leaving the Ad Blocker on keeps websites working.

@aciba there are several complains on several different posts.

I'm trying to relay the message from the developers but I can only make one post every 2 minutes 🙂
