How to have bookmarks on bookmarks bar after reinstalling

I unstalled opera on my desk top. When I reinstalled and was going through the tedious work of setting things up, under zero circumstances could I get bookmarks bar to load in the book marks bar. The book marks har is blank. Tried this twice. %he imported bookmarks don't load onto the bar.
